Privacy policy
This policy explains what the ADA_PT iPhone app and this website collect, why, and what you can do about it. ADA_PT is made by Tom Vigrass, an independent developer in the United Kingdom, who is the data controller. Questions go to hello@ada-pt.fit.
What we collect
- Account: the identifier and email address Sign in with Apple shares with us. If you choose Hide My Email, we only see Apple's relay address.
- Profile and equipment: your goals, units, favourite lifts and the equipment you record for each place you train.
- Training records: sessions, exercises, sets, loads, reps, challenge ratings, notes, and the energy, soreness and sleep scores you enter when you arrive.
- Health information you choose to give: injuries, their severity, pain flags and notes, and any advice from a clinician that you type in. This is special category data, and you decide whether to enter it.
- Conversations: what you write to the in-app coach, the injury interview and the notes after an exercise, and the replies.
- Technical data: server logs of requests (time, route, result, errors) with health fields removed, and usage counters that keep the service within its limits. If someone signs in without an invitation, we keep only the domain of their email address and a count of attempts.
We do not collect your location, contacts or Apple Health data. The app contains no advertising, no analytics SDKs and no tracking across other apps or websites. We do not sell or share your data for advertising. This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics.
How we use it
- To build each session, adapt your programme and show your progress.
- To answer you in the coach chat and the injury interview.
- To keep the service secure: invitation checks, rate limits and abuse prevention.
- To reply when you contact us.
AI processing
To plan sessions and reply in chat, the app sends the relevant part of your training history, equipment, injuries and messages to Google's Gemini models through Google Cloud Vertex AI, processed in the European Union. Google acts as our processor and does not use this data to train its models. We do not use your data to train models either. A deterministic check on our side validates every plan before you see it, and the coach applies changes to your programme only after you confirm them.
Who processes it, and where
| Provider | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Google Cloud and Firebase | Sign-in, database, servers, this website | United Kingdom (London region) |
| Google Cloud Vertex AI | Gemini model processing | European Union |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple, app distribution | Apple's own terms |
Legal basis
Under UK GDPR we rely on contract to provide the app you signed up for, on your explicit consent for health information (you give it by entering it, and you can withdraw it by deleting it), and on our legitimate interests for security and abuse prevention.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account in Settings, your data is removed from the live database straight away. Copies remain in encrypted backups for up to 90 days (point-in-time recovery covers 7 days, and weekly backups are kept for 90) and are then deleted. Server logs are kept for 30 days.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your data, object to processing, or withdraw consent. Most of this is in the app: Settings has data export and account deletion. For anything else, email hello@ada-pt.fit and we will reply within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to your records is limited to your own signed-in account, and the app is invite-only while it is in beta.
Children
ADA_PT is not intended for anyone under 18.
Not medical advice
ADA_PT gives fitness guidance. It does not diagnose, treat or replace a clinician. If you are under a clinician's care, their advice comes first.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app before they take effect.
